King Of Pain

In 2004, a legend was born. The King of Pain is the toughest road race in the history of Glastonbury and, as anyone who has run it knows, it lives up to its name. The race course offers breathtaking South Glastonbury orchard scenery, along with hill after hill after hill. As a bonus, we scheduled the race smack-dab in the middle of a frigid New England winter. No extra charge. And you’ll be pretty sore after you finish, but you’ll walk away with bragging rights that will last all year long.

Presented by Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Centers and held in loving memory of Mike Keenan, the King of Pain is GRR’s signature 10-mile road race — although the course is actually closer to 10.35 miles!

The King of Pain supports the Connecticut Chapter of Achilles International, whose mission is to transform the lives of people with disabilities through athletics and social connections. Achilles pairs athletes with disabilities and medical conditions with runners without disabilities, helping participants become active, set goals, and break down barriers to living a fulfilling life.
