FAQs
Curious about GRR or just have a question? You’re in the right place. Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often about running with us.
You are welcome to try a group run before joining but registration is required for membership. Please reach out to GRRClubinfo@gmail.com for more information.
Yearly membership is $30 for an individual or $50 for a family, and includes a ton of great perks and discounts. Membership runs on a calendar year, from January through December.
We meet at various locations in and around Glastonbury. Each week, members receive the meeting location and route details for that week’s runs.
Not at all! GRR welcomes runners and walkers of all paces and experience levels. Paces and distances vary by day and by member, so there’s plenty of flexibility to find what works for you.
Saturday runs typically offer multiple distance options, ranging from 3 to 12 miles or more. Members often share their planned routes, and you’ll usually find others running at a similar pace. Weekday runs typically offer one or two distance options, with members running at a pace that works best for them.
Walk/run is welcome, too. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, getting back into running, or just starting out, there’s a place for you at GRR.
We run mostly on public roads that are open to traffic. While we do not have a firm anti-stroller or pet policy, we do ask that all participants be mindful of fellow members and the risks. If you do decide to run with your dog, we do require that he/she be on leash at all times.
Bring comfortable running shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and any water or fuel you may need for your run. A phone is also a good idea, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the route.
We generally share weather and route updates through our private Facebook group. If there’s a last-minute change, we’ll post an update as soon as possible
Is there coffee? Absolutely. In fact, we consider it an essential part of the run. We usually gather at Daybreak in Glastonbury when we’ve finished running. The starting location may change depending on the route, but the coffee tradition is a constant!
